Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation provides opportunities for recreation enjoyment through its parks, facilities, activities and events. Annual special events conducted by the department include the Independence Day Celebration, Halloween in the Park, the Goodlettsville Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade. Additionally, community events and activities take place throughout the year such as the GoodDog Festival and Egg Hunt, Family Movie Nights, and Fun Fridays. Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation is comprised of three divisions that work each day to create unique experiences for the users of the park system.
Maintaining green space, athletic fields, and playgrounds for the safety and enjoyment of people are the main priorities for this division.
Development, administration, and implementation of public recreation programs, community events, and leisure services are the focus of the Recreation division. This division also creates marketing initiatives, promotes advocacy for parks, and is the first point of contact for citizens and participants.
Provides the overall management and supervision for all functions within the department.
