Non-native. Native to China. A nice oak that grows fast and has a simple, elliptical, toothed leaf that can resemble chestnut. Can become large at a relatively fast rate. A good percent of the dead brown leaves tend to stay on the tree all winter, like pin oak. Not abundant, but seems to be planted more and more since 1995 or so.
